ARE YOU A CHRISTIAN COUNSELOR?
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, who is a Christian. If you are interested in integrating your Christian faith into treatment, we can do so in thoughtful and intentional ways.
When my client(s) are receiving Professional Counseling, it is completely up to the client to bring in his or her Spirituality.
When clients are receiving Formational Prayer, God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are the foundation and means of healing.
WHEN ARE YOU AVAILABLE?
Due to the COVID19 pandemic, I am presently offering Michigan residents TeleHealth sessions on a HIPAA secure video platform.
I am available through TeleHealth Mondays- Thursdays, and very limited Friday hours. Closed Wednesdays & Sundays
WHAT PAYMENTS DO YOU ACCEPT?
I utilize a HIPAA secure platform called IVY Pay, which works with credit cards, FSA and HSA Cards.
DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
Blue Cross and Blue Shield

Out of Network: If you have other insurance, I am happy to provide receipts for out of network compensation. To determine if your insurance company will reimburse you for payments made for service call, the mental health 800 number which is on the back of most insurance cards and ask if you have “out-of-network benefits” for mental health services and, if so, at what percentage you will be reimbursed for each session. Obtaining at least a portion of the payment is common but typically it is required to call and get authorization/confirmation prior to submitting your receipt.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING A CONSULTATION CALL?
We will discuss what you are looking for counseling support for, techniques and skills that I would likely use, any questions you have and next steps. Next steps may be talking with other counselors, community support referrals or setting up your intake session.
WHERE DO SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?
Currently, I see all of my clients via a HIPAA secure Zoom platform.
I have an office space in Rochester, MI which I hope to return to when I feel it is safe to do so.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING OUR FIRST SESSION?
During the first session, I will ask any follow up questions I have based on your intake form and we will begin talking about some specific treatment goals. If time allows, we will discuss coping strategies to use right away.
WHAT IF THERAPY ISN'T WORKING?
I hope that we foster and create a safe and open environment, I am always open to and welcome feedback regarding your treatment. This can be a valuable part of the counseling process. We will do quarterly check ins about your specific goals and address anything that isn’t working.
If it doesn't seem that you are making progress, it could be that I am not the right fit counselor for you. We can discuss what isn't working and I can help support you in finding a better fit counselor.
My highest goal is your healing and progress, so I want you to be in the best place for you!
IS COUNSELING CONFIDENTIAL?
In general, Michigan law protects the confidentiality of all communications between a client and his or her therapist. No information is disclosed without prior written permission from the client.
There are some exceptions to this rule which are required by law:
Disclosure of suggested abuse or neglect of a minor, dependent adult or elder. All therapists are required to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person. The therapist is required to notify the police.
If a client intends to harm him- or herself. I will make every effort to work with clients to ensure their safety. However, if an individual does not cooperate, or is unwilling to take responsibility for their safety, additional measures may need to be taken.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
If you cancel an appointment with less than 2 business day notice or no-call-no-show, you will be charged your appointment fee as it is unlikely will be unable to schedule another client on such short notice. This time is reserved for you.
